Presidential Search Update: Finalists Conclude Successful Campus Visits
The search for the next permanent President of Porterville College reached a critical stage this week as the three highly qualified finalists visited the campus on Monday, October 6th, and Tuesday, October 7th.
The finalists who spent a full day engaging with the campus and community were: Primavera Monarrez, Dr. Jesse Pisors, and Dr. Tia Robinson-Cooper.
Each candidate had a full schedule designed to provide a deep understanding of “Pirate Life” at Porterville College and the Porterville community. Their full day on campus included Campus Tours, familiarizing themselves with the facilities and physical infrastructure of Porterville College; Stakeholder Meetings, engaging with various campus groups to hear directly about their experiences, challenges, and aspirations for the college's future; Open Community Forums, where community members, students, and employees had the crucial opportunity to meet the candidates, hear their visions, and submit questions regarding institutional leadership, student success, and community partnership; and District Engagement, meeting with the Kern Community College District Chancellor and several Trustees, members of the governing body responsible for the final selection.

This intensive process is coming to a close soon, with the final candidate expected to be announced within the next month. The new President of Porterville College is anticipated to begin their tenure in January of 2026, leading the campus into its next chapter of growth and student success.
